No surprise

I think everything was meant to be.
The sudden mood changes.
The surprised look you gave me.
I always see that faraway look on you.
Whenever I turn behind,
And my eyes travel over to yours.
From where I was sitting,
You, scarred and beautiful,
Looks so vulnerable,
Looks so uncertain.
If only I can see the future,
I bet its better than what it is now.
I, myself was unsure.
I think everything was meant to be.
But, I wish for something else.
We used to breathe without a doubt.
We used to walk for miles where there's no end.
At least there was you.
At least there was me.
We never thought about anything.
There were just us.
Why cannot we get back?
Like how we used to be?
There was just too much tension going,
Around me and around you.
But, I wish for something else.
I've forgotten what its like.
To be happy, to smile so freely.
The day everything changed,
Was the day I died.
We used to breathe without a doubt.
We used to walk for miles, till our feet hurt.
At least there was you.
